Mounted Skill-at-Arms

The Dutch Association for Mounted Skill-at-Arms "Saint Georges" is the first and only Dutch club that focuses on the use of the weapons sword, lance and revolver by rid-ers in competition. Contemporary mounted skill-at-arms stems from the military exercises that riders needed for the battlefield.

Mounted skill-at-arms exists as a sport in England since the nineteenth century and is currently practiced in all countries (once) in the British Empire, including Australia, India, Israel, New Zealand and South Africa.

Association
The association was founded on January 25, 2004. Many members are in the Dutch Forces. All members are competent as a rider. Mounted skill-at-arms is related to the welfare and safety of the participating riders, their horses, spectators and others. It is not for people who like to learn horse riding, but is intended for experienced riders who like to become proficient in handling some traditional weapons on a horseback.
