Dutch annual competition (Engels)

31 May the Netherlands Association for Mounted Skill at Arms 'Saint Georges' had its annual competition at its monthly training location, the Muiderberg Equestrian Centre near Amsterdam. The weather was excellent and the extended jumping competition area proved to be perfectly suited for Cabbage Slicing, Skill-at-Arms and Tentpegging. After the competition the best riders gave a demonstration of Spear Throwing and Pig Sticking for an exited audience of family, friends and fans. Arjen de Jong, who owns the riding school, prolonged his title of national champion. Chairman Major Harry Kampen, who had just returned from his mission in Afganistan, despite his lack of any riding for six months, finished fourth.

In total 12 members of the association participated at the competition.

The winners:
1: Arjen de Jong
2: Raymond Manders
3: Henk Heesterbeek

Best runner-up: Lyanne Oldenbroek

All received wine, except for Bart. He got a frozen chicken for his lack of luck during the competition. And Arjen received a trophy, kindly sponsored by Raymond, which will look quite fine on any mantle.

Jury: Rein van der Mast (chairman) and Bert van Asselt

If the BTPA dares, it is kindly invited to attend next year's competition.
